Why We Don’t Save the “Fun Stuff” for the End!

In speech therapy, the fun isn’t a reward — it’s the process for learning!

Kids learn best when they’re engaged, motivated, and having a good time. That’s why we use their favorite toys, games, and interests throughout the session, not just at the end.

When therapy is playful from the start, we see:

  • More communication attempts

  • Better attention and participation

  • More natural language use

  • Fewer power struggles

Instead of “work first, play later,” we turn play into the therapy itself. Because meaningful, joyful interactions lead to the biggest progress. At the end of the day, fun isn’t something we earn — it’s how we learn!
